Orpingtons are a big, friendly, dual-purpose bird from England. A very cold hardy bird due to their fluffy plumage and a wonderful mother to their chicks. Along with their giant size, they are gentle and friendly along with being a faithful layer. The Buff Orpington is the most popular of all varieties of Orpington--a pretty, bright, pale "buffed" copper color that is very striking. This breed of chicken can be easily identified in our fields. A visitor’s favorite.
